Jags on the hunt for defensive cover
Partick Thistle boss Alan Archibald insisted his business was done for the summer after the double-signing of Conor Sammon and Miles Storey but the Jags boss has revealed he is set to get busy one more time following a long-term injury to Calum Booth.
The Jags left-back is set to be on the sidelines for up to three months after damaging his knee ligaments in the weekend loss to St Johnstone, forcing Archibald to rush to find a replacement before next Thursday’s transfer deadline.
I wasn’t planning on doing any more business and we thought we were finished last week.
But Callum Booth got a bad knee injury last week at St Johnstone so we might have to go back in and get some cover in at full-back.
We think he will be out for 12 weeks. He’s torn his posterior cruciate ligament so it’s quite a bad one.

Ross McCormack’s potential loan move to Sunderland is being held up by fellow Scotland international Robert Snodgrass.

More from Zlatan

I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch.”

I feel very happy myself. I played in very big teams in the past, but I do not like to talk about my past. I left the history behind completely.
I am here to serve Samsunspor completely.
We have our goals. We have very big plans for the future. We have our new stadium. With our new stadium, our targets have grown. We all want to go to the Super League as a team. I want to contribute to this.

Snoddy is somebody I’ve known for a long time – I bought him for Hull – so that’s something we’re looking into and exploring.
The Jack Wilshere one – hey, who wouldn’t want Jack Wilshere? But I don’t know whether we’re capable of landing him and let’s not forget he’s only 25.”
Dundee United eye Ross County striker
Dundee United have turned to Ross County striker Greg Morrison after missing out on Denny Johnstone.

Morrison has also played in County’s first team during this campaign.
Now United have expressed an interest in securing his services on a Development Loan, with Dumbarton also believed to be keen in adding to their attacking pool.

Leicester City winger Demerai Gray has issued a warning to his club that they must start him or sell him, according to the Mirror.
The 21-year-old is unhappy with his game time at the King Power Stadium and has only been brought on in the 88th and 89th minute of league games this season.
Bournemouth have offered nearly £30m for the wideman but Leicester haven’t been willing to do business so far.
Hearts to complete McLaughlin deal
Hearts interim-boss Jon Daly has confirmed the club’s signing of Jon McLaughlin.
The stopper will join as competition for Jack Hamilton and Viktor Noring for the No 1 strip.
Daly also insists Hamilton won’t go out on loan despite the new signing.
He said:
“The coaching staff have been very impressed by his training level and ability, he will add competition to Jack and Viktor.
“The level he has played at in the Championship is very competitive, it’s similar to Scotland in that they have to deal with a lot of cross balls and contact, he’s well used to that.
“I don’t think Jack will go on loan, he’s a young goalkeeper we are really happy with and has done well over the last couple of games. John will come in as competition for Jack and Viktor.”

He said:
“He called me and outlined his plans for me and it was impressive.
“I am still at the age where I can develop my game and he can be the best manager for that.
“There is nothing better than playing for a club that has good ambition and St Johnstone have definitely got that.
“It would be massive.
“That would be the best scenario, fingers crossed.
“I had a look at the fixtures and it was a funny one when I seen it and I am delighted that hopefully I will be in the squad for that one.
“I am very much looking forward to going back there.
“Callum McGregor was in the same reserves side as I was and now he is flourishing.

The 22-year-old trained with St Johnstone this morning and will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s trip to Celtic.
Wright said:
“We are just waiting on international clearing and stuff, which I can’t see a problem with, and once that goes through he will go straight into the squad.”He has come in on a season loan so I am pleased to get him, he ticks a lot of boxes for us.”He has got quality and in the market we are in, it is a great option.”He will improve the team.
