CAIRO – 1 May 2024: Egypt’s Public Prosecution ordered Wednesday to refer the defendant accused of killing a Sudanese national child called ‘Jenette’ to the criminal court.

According to an official statement the defendant is facing charges of kidnapping, assaulting and killing.

The Public Prosecution had received notification that the body of the victim, who was ten months old, had been found in one of the public parks near to her residence.

The Prosecution moved to inspect the crime scene and examine the body and investigate the incident.

It was revealed that the accused had kidnapped the victim ‘Jenette’ while playing with her sister near their house.

He took her to a nearby park, where he assaulted her, and hen her screams became louder, the defendant started to strangle her.

The accused admitted during the investigations that he had committed the incident according to this story, which was confirmed by the autopsy report.
