LATER THIS MONTH. NEW TONIGHT A WOMAN IN ALAMANCE COUNTY HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH STRANGLING A CHILD, DEPUTIES SAY. 37 YEAR-OLD ASHLEY THOMPSON IS CHARGED WITH FELONY CHILD ABUSE WITH SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY AND FELONY ASSAULT BY STRANGULATION. INVESTIGATORS WITH THE SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT FOUND PROBABLE CAUSE TO CHARGE THOMPSON AFTER THAT ALLEGED ABUSE WAS REPORTED TO THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE ON WEDNESDA
