Worlds away from Winterfell! Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is unrecognisable with blonde hair and tattoos as she rocks a skimpy bikini in first look images for new film Josie

She is set to say goodbye to her character Sansa Stark in the fantasy series Game of Thrones very soon, as its final season is being filmed for release in 2019.

But Sophie Turner was worlds away from her medieval role in first look images from her latest film Josie, ditching the ladylike dresses and red curls for a skimpy ensemble, blonde hair and tattoos.

The 21-year-old sports the revealing ensemble for her titular role in the drama, which is set for US release in March, playing a newcomer to a sleepy Southern town with a very dark past.

Much warmer than Winterfell! Stills for the upcoming film Josie were released earlier this year

Warmer than Winterfell! Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner looked unrecognisable in first look images for her new film Josie, donning a skimpy black and white bikini

In one snap, Sophie can be seen reclining by the pool in a high waisted black and white bikini, with an arm of tattoos on full display.

The beauty is seen coyly listening to music as she relaxes on her sunbed with her long blonde curls in a half-up half-down do.

In a second snap, Sophie is flirtily enjoying her drink with a straw, as rocks starry denim hotpants and a see-through black mesh top over her bikini.

According to Deadline, the film's synopsis reads: 'Josie follows the tattooed, sweet-talking stranger Josie (Sophie Turner) who, upon arriving to a small, southern town, strikes up relationships with local young punk Marcus (Jack Kilmer) and her loner neighbor Hank (Dynlan McDermott).

'She quickly becomes a hot topic of local gossip, but her true intentions for arriving in town are far more sinister when her dark past comes to light.'

Josie is set for a US release in March, after opening the Mammoth Film Festival in March.

This role is just one of several for Sophie coming up this year, with her biggest set to be a reprisal of Jean Grey in X-Men Dark Phoenix.

Set to be released in November, the film will see Sophie's character take upon the famous Phoenix, seeing her unleash uncontrollable power after being struck by a solar flare, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Alongside this, Sophie has also been filming the final season of Game of Thrones, which, to fans despair, will not air until 2019.

Turner talked with excitement about the upcoming final season in an interview with Variety, saying: 'It’s going to be tricky for [Sansa], because at the end of last season, she felt that she had everything set up. She had her family back together. They were in control of the North again.

'This season, there’s a new threat, and all of a sudden she finds herself somewhat back in the deep end... This season is more a passionate fight for her than a political, manipulative kind of fight.'
