The FIJI Water Foundation has officially launched its 2025 Classroom Grants program, which provides up to $5,000 in funding to certified educators.

FIJI Water Foundation Manager Marie Smith says the annual grant program allows any teacher - from those in the busy capital to the hardest-to-reach outer islands - to apply for funding to enrich the academic opportunities available to their students.

She says they are working to ensure every student has access to quality education that will prepare them for a brighter future.

Smith says they have invested over $4 million in improving educational outcomes and providing critical resources to educators through the Classroom Grants program, which began in 2018.

Smith says the foundation aims to empower both teachers and students with the resources they need to succeed, fostering academic achievement and personal growth.

She says that last year, nearly 250 educators received grant funding totaling $1.2 million for educational programs and initiatives, which have benefitted over 50,000 students across Fiji.

Applications for the 2025 Classroom Grants will close on 12th April 2025, and selected grantees will be notified in May 2025.
